Minutes from the Sims Board of Directors Luncheon Meeting at the Gymnastics Association of Texas (GAT) Convention:

Meeting was called to order by Jerit Pogue

I, Greg Schram (GS), was not able to attend the beginning of the meeting due to being off-site speaking.

GS arrived at 11:50am


Members Present:

Mark Sherman (MS) Judging Liaison


Discussion about Meetings:

(JP) 2 meetings a year.

1 at GAT Sunday - Luncheon (like this one).

1 Bigger one before L6-E State - Friday evening Dinner.  This second one discusses more details about the scholarship recipients.

    Expenses covered for travel/lodging if not already going to the event (GAT or L6-E State).


Discussion about booths:

(JP+group) 1 booth done - L4/5 North State

    2nd one in progress - for L4/5 South State

    Kevin and Jerit working together with Gary to help with finishing the booth.

    Videos/DVD copies/transfers to finish.


Treasurer Report:

(TE)  Thanks to Kiser for dealing with all the "stuff" having been the past President and doing a great job over the years.

    Discussion of athletes & some scholarship monies: (-housing, -checks to be written).

About $48,000 in account.

    Poker Tournament at GAT made between $750 & $800.

(JP+group)    More ideas needed so that we can be paying out from the interest made.

Jerit planning another tournament at L4/5 South State with Tom's help.

(GS)  Possibly have video/booth by the Poker tournament's registration table at GAT and/or other tournaments.

(TE)  Donations and pamphlets discussed.


Discussion about website:

(JP)  Website address is simsscholarship.org.

    Meeting minutes, new board members, plus other updates/fixes to be finished, discussed, and sent to Bret.


General closing statements:

Next meeting in April and then next GAT.

(JP) The Secretary (GS) will be sent new IRS paper(s) to sign and then send back out.

Each Sims Scholarship Committee / Board Member needs to send Greg his contact info - address, phone, email.

I, Greg, needed to leave to open and prep the Concho room for the ITP-Boys 1 course.


The meeting basically ended around 12:45pm.
